At the very end, time is frozen across the universe except for Fry and Leela. Fry uses Professor Farnsworth’s “Time Button” device that resets time every ten seconds. In a panic, thinking Leela has rejected him, Fry jumps off a building. Leela arrives just in time—but the device breaks, causing time to freeze with only the two of them unfrozen. They decide to make the best of this frozen moment together and accept Fry’s proposal of marriage.
They live for decades in this frozen universe, traveling and growing old together. Later, the Professor repairs the Time Button. He offers to reset time back to before he invented the device, which would erase all their shared memories. Fry asks Leela if she wants to “go around again”—meaning live everything again—and she says yes. The timeline then resets to just before the button was created. Fry makes Leela’s dinner date on time; she admits she thought he might not show. They share a kiss, and hope lives on.
