Here’s a quick plot recap of Link Click:

Plot Recap

Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang run the Time Photo Studio. Cheng Xiaoshi has the ability to enter photographs—reliving the moment the photo was taken by inhabiting the photographer—while Lu Guang can observe the events in the photo and surrounding timeline for up to 12 hours after it was captured. They take on commissions from clients to solve mysteries or correct regrets from the past, under one strict rule: they must never alter what happened in the past.

Over the course of Season 1, cases grow from small emotional or relational remediations—helping someone find a recipe, reconcile old friendships, or explore a tragedy like an impending earthquake—to darker, more complex mysteries involving crime, disappearance, and loss.

The tension escalates as Cheng Xiaoshi’s strong sense of justice causes him to break the rules, setting off unforeseen ripple effects. Meanwhile, there are greater forces at play: powerful entities able to possess bodies, twin antagonists with ties to clients and the studio, and Cheng Xiaoshi’s own past, including the mystery around his parents’ disappearance, all begin to interweave.

To fill in backstory, the Bridon Arc (a prequel) reveals Cheng Xiaoshi once died. His and Lu Guang’s efforts to save him lead them to Bridon, where they meet new characters (Xia Fei, Vein, Liu Xiao) and uncover deeper secrets like the Bahati fire.

By the end of Season 2, a major twist occurs: Qiao Ling inherits a new power due to being possessed, and Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang discover the true depth and danger of their powers’ repercussions.

Ending explained (spoilers)

What happens at the end of LINK CLICK?

Here’s what happens at the end of Link Click Season 2 (Episode 12: “Can’t Live Without a Good Brother”)—major spoilers ahead:

Plot Recap of the Finale

  1. Final confrontation with Qian Jin Cheng Xiaoshi, Lu Guang, Qiao Ling, Li Tianchen, and Li Tianxi finish chasing Qian Jin. In a desperate fight, Li Tianchen tries to use his ability (possession) against Xiaoshi. During the chaos, Lu Guang is severely wounded, and Li Tianxi is shot while trying to protect others. Captain Xiao arrives to help turn the tide.

  2. Memory transfer from Li Tianxi to Qiao Ling Before she presumably dies, Li Tianxi’s memories—including traumatic events and her own power use—flood into Qiao Ling. Among those memories is a vision involving Xiaoshi’s death and other key events. Qiao Ling is overwhelmed and passes out.

  3. Aftermath and resolutions

    • A special task force is established to handle paranormal cases, with Captain Xiao in charge. - Liu Xiao helps facilitate changes involving Li Tianchen’s case (he leaves behind his phone, symbolizing moving on). - back at Time Photo Studio, Cheng Xiaoshi tries to return to normalcy. Lu Guang, still recovering, is distant; he reflects on having broken his own rule: trying to change a fixed outcome to save Xiaoshi.
  4. Cliffhanger ending twist One final flashback scene shows Lu Guang in bloodied clothing—his watch reads 00:05 on September 13. He claps using Cheng Xiaoshi’s power, implying he is using their abilities to go back in time in an attempt to save Xiaoshi. In the present, Xiaoshi turns and sees Lu Guang, offering a radiant smile as the screen fades. The series ends without confirming whether Lu Guang’s change will succeed.

Key Ambiguities & Implications

  • Fixed death vs. changing the past: Lu Guang’s internal rule has always been that certain outcomes—especially death—cannot be changed. Yet the flashback in the finale suggests he’s attempting to alter that outcome for Xiaoshi. - Multiple loops or timelines? It's unclear whether Lu Guang is creating a new timeline, looping events, or operating within a singular world where paths can diverge temporarily. The show repeatedly hints at consequences and moral weight of changing the past. - Open-ended relationships and future arcs: The bond between the main trio—Xiaoshi, Lu Guang, and Qiao Ling—is intact but strained. Viewers are left with emotional questions rather than clean resolutions. The next season (or arc) is expected to explore what's possible after Lu Guang’s decision.

If you like, I can break down what all this might mean—including theories about Lu Guang’s power, whether there’s a fixed outcome, and what to expect in Season 3.
