Mike Hollingsworth, a veteran Secret Service agent, is on the cusp of retirement but haunted by an old case involving a thwarted presidential assassination attempt. The show begins when a U.S. Marshal is killed, and what looks like a straightforward case quickly spirals into something much darker. Clare refuses to let the case go, and the whole family becomes entangled. At the same time, Micah is assigned to protect the President’s daughter, Sydney, and enters into a secret relationship with her—blurring personal and professional lines.

Conspiracy looms large as strange assassins begin targeting high-ranking government agents. Mike, Jane, and their children realize the threat may reach inside the very institutions they’ve spent their lives serving. When the danger becomes personal, they carry out an unauthorized, high-risk operation together to expose the conspiracy.

In the season finale, they succeed in stopping the assassin, exposing the plot, and bringing the truth to light—but at great cost. The Hollingsworths' careers are left in shambles: badges revoked, clearances stripped, and their brand of service under suspicion. They’ve saved each other and exposed corruption, but the very systems they dedicated themselves to now regard them as liabilities.
