Rue is not shown living with the Miller family; they are a separate Christian homestead family who take Ali in and later share a meal where Ali leads prayer. Rue herself has a mother and sister, but they are not part of the Miller family. The family praying at the end of Season 3, Episode 8 is the Millers, not Rue’s biological family. Rue’s mother and sister appear in other contexts but are distinct from the Millers.
