Ending explained (spoilers)
Which episodes are must-watch before the finale?
Before the finale of Cowboy Bebop, the must-watch episodes that build crucial backstory and character arcs are:
- "Ballad of Fallen Angels" – Introduces Spike’s confrontation with Vicious and hints at his dark past with the Red Dragon syndicate. 2. "Jupiter Jazz" (Parts 1 & 2) – Explores Spike’s relationship with Julia and deepens the conflict with Vicious. 3. "Sympathy for the Devil" – Further develops Spike’s past and the syndicate threat. 4. Episodes focusing on Faye’s amnesia and Jet’s police history – These provide important character depth but are less critical than Spike’s syndicate arc.
These episodes set up the emotional and narrative stakes leading into the two-part finale, "The Real Folk Blues." Watching them ensures a full understanding of Spike’s motivations and the syndicate conflict that culminates in the finale.
