Who is Clevatess

• Clevatess (aka Clen) — A Demon King and one of the four ancient “Calamities” (Beast Kings), he rules the southern lands in the world of Edthea. In his true form he’s a massive fox‐wolf-like demonic beast with glowing mane, multiple horns, and mighty tails; he also uses a human guise (Clen), which is physically weaker, to interact with others.
• Motivation & personality — Originally shown as ruthless and detached, particularly toward humans, Clevatess’s experiences—especially after adopting and caring for Luna—begin to alter his worldview. He becomes interested in humanity not just to conquer or destroy, but to understand, judge, and perhaps even protect.

What shattered his reign

Clevatess’s reign fell apart due to two major, intertwined developments:

1. Resurrection of Alicia Glenfall After slaughtering a band of Thirteen Heroes who attacked his domain, and laying waste to the Kingdom of Haiden, Clevatess revived one of those slain heroes—Alicia Glenfall—and forced her into servitude. This act drew unexpected consequences and set him on a different path.

2. Adoption of Luna, the orphaned royal baby Luna—born to the royal line of Haiden—was saved and given to Clevatess during his destructive conquest. Caring for her forced him into unfamiliar territory: parenthood, moral conflict, and closer contact with humanity. Luna becomes a living reason for him to protect rather than conquer, altering his priorities and destabilizing his status as an all-dark sovereign.

These two actions—reviving a victim, and caring for a child whose people he destroyed—undermined the narrative of fear and dominance that had underpinned his rule. They opened him to vulnerabilities: moral dilemmas, political and personal challenges, and the weight of responsibility he’d never anticipated.
