In Arcane Season 1, Vi and Powder start as close sisters in Zaun, but their lives split tragically after a heist goes wrong. During the fallout, Powder accidentally causes the death of their friend, which leads Vi to blame her. Vi leaves Powder behind, and Powder is taken in by a different group, eventually becoming known as Jinx. This separation sets them on opposing paths—Vi aligns with more grounded, protective roles, while Powder/Jinx descends into chaos and instability, deepening their conflict throughout the season.
